About Nikki

Nikki Coulter

Resident in Counseling, M.S.

Hi, my name is Nikki.

I am a Resident in Counseling and I work with adults of all ages. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space for clients to process challenges. The methods I use typically include a blend of talk therapy and mindfulness practices that encourage a gentle exploration of issues.

I have a background in bodywork and extensive training in Somatic Experiencing (SE).

I have seen personally and through my clients the profound impact stress and trauma can have on both the mind and the physical body, for example in the form of anxiety, chronic pain or frequent stomach upset. I believe that healing can happen without needing to focus heavily on the retelling of a trauma, as this can be highly upsetting. Developing self-awareness of how trauma itself is currently impacting one's thoughts, feelings and actions can assist in uncovering and changing patterns that are no longer
useful to them.

I received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College with an emphasis in somatic therapies (the mind body connection). In my free time, I enjoy reading, binge watching shows with my husband and children, traveling and working on my family's homestead.

I specialize in treating adults (18+) with:

Life Transitions and Adjustment
Trauma and Neglect

I am committed to social justice and am an ally of all communities.

Don't try to calm the storm. Calm yourself. The storm will pass.
